The challenge
The multinational's health retail division operated on an on-premise Oracle SOA Suite platform supporting critical distribution center processes: order management, supplier integration, supply chain flow orchestration, and warehouse system communication. This infrastructure presented growing risks of technological obsolescence, high maintenance costs, and difficulties scaling during peak demand periods. Incident response times were lengthy, and the dependence on physical hardware created vulnerabilities in operational continuity.
The solution
We executed the migration of the Oracle SOA Suite platform to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including the modernization of the most critical integration components to Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC). The process was carried out in phases to ensure operational continuity of the distribution center without impacting the supply chain. We conducted a thorough inventory of all integrated processes, followed by re-engineering of the most complex flows to leverage OIC native capabilities. The associated databases were migrated to Oracle Autonomous Database on OCI, reducing the DBA team's operational burden and improving availability through self-management and automatic recovery capabilities.
