The challenge
The operator's field commercial force managed orders and sales through disconnected tools: spreadsheets, legacy mobile applications, and informal communication through non-integrated channels. This generated inconsistencies in applied prices and promotions, limited real-time pipeline visibility for management, and an inefficient work experience for field sales reps. Order cycles were slow, error-prone during data entry, and difficult to reconcile with the operator's backend systems.
The solution
We developed a PDA (Point of Distribution Application) platform designed specifically for the operator's field commercial operation. The frontend was built in Angular with offline-first support, allowing sales reps to continue operating without connectivity and automatically sync when signal is restored. The business microservices were implemented in Java with Spring Boot and deployed on OpenShift, integrated with real-time product catalog, pricing, and stock systems. The architecture supports dynamic configuration of promotions, discounts, and commercial rules without requiring redeployments, enabling marketing team agility.
